All Goa Inter-Collegiate “Elocution, Poetry Recitation and Book Review” Competitions

Chowgule college hockey team won the inter-collegiate hockey tournament defeating St. Xaviers in finals by 1-0.Kamal Minz scored the winning goal.

Earlier the chowgule college team defeated defending champions Fr. Agnel,Pilar in a tie breaker 5-3 after a tie of 1 goal each.

Mr. Viju Dessai, Mahesh Kavlekar, Gandesh Shetkar and Rohan Govekar for being selected to represent Goa State for Body Building Competion to be held at Nainital, in February, organised by Indian Body Building Association.

Mr.Vijaykumar Namdeo Nazare, from Department of Chemistry (Higher Secondary Section) of Smt.Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science, Margao-Goa is being selected for (TEA) Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (A Fulbright fellowship Program).

TEA is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State & implemented by IREX.

Dr. M. P. Shivalli, Librarian at Smt. Parvatibai Chowgule College, has been awarded the prestigious Commonwealth Professional Fellowship by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, United Kingdom, for the year 2011. She is the first Librarian in the state of Goa and one of the three from India to be chosen as recipient of this internationally coveted award.

Professional in Library and Information, she has been nominated for this award by Middlesex University, Learning Resource, the Sheppard Library, London. She will work on ‘Web 2.0, Information Literacy and Access to Research’ and ‘Empowering Knowledge Networks-Empowering Women through Information Communication Technology (ICT)’ under the valuable guidance of Mr. Alan Hopkinson, Technical Manager (Library) and International Project Consultant at Middlesex University, London, United Kingdom.
